5 Star Fisheries. Who we are, by company owner Ben Cornick.

5 Star Fisheries is based in West Yorkshire in the North of the UK. What started as a hobby has naturally evolved into a business after studying with the institute of fisheries management and learning from some of the industries finest.

5 Star Fisheries is named after a beautiful and very sought after 45lb plus mirror that resides at the lake where our farmed fish originate. 5 Star has been one of the biggest fish in the lake for a number of years and continues to amaze any angler that is lucky enough to see her on the bank. One of our goals is to produce many fish of her calibre to enable fisheries around the UK to enjoy such amazing creatures..

Owning and managing a water is not just a case of throwing a few fish in a lake and expecting it to be a productive and viable business, it is an art form and needs specific considerations from the outset. Cutting corners or ignoring the basics can be extremely costly and can quite easily lead to failure very early on in the venture.

Any business involving livestock needs thoughtful management year on year, and fisheries are no exception. Whether a newly dug pond or a mature existing fishery there is always some basic management practices you can put in place to dramatically improve your waters productivity, in turn making it a more enjoyable place for anglers to spend their time catching healthy fish in a relaxing environment. After nurturing our own waters with great success we have now decided to offer our specialist services to others, should they need them.
